REFOCUS your business model at RETSO next week

Next week, outside of Atlanta, professionals from around the country will gather together to refocus on their personal strategy for success in the real estate business. If you’re ready to transform your business in 2013, get yourself to RETSO.


I’ve attended RETSO since 2009. It’s a conference experience like no other. The conference takes place in a quiet suburb of Atlanta, there are less distractions. Less temptations to go siteseeing, or go get lunch; less reasons to leave the conference. This leads to much more “hallway interaction” than the average conference. In addition, RETSO has worked very hard to deliver content from speakers that rises above the vendor-pitches that are so often found at other conferences.

As much as I’ve enjoyed RETSO in the past, I love what’s in store for this year. The RETSO team has decided to focus (or REFOCUS) on the collaborative spirit of those hallway interactions and make it core to the programming itself. This year, there are no speakers. Instead, just people who will help you build your own business model for success.

In the spirit of collaboration, I’m proud to be coordinating the Robot Teams project at RETSO.

The Robot Teams

These are teams of 3 to 5 people who will seek to challenge the status quo by creating extremely innovative business models. Each Robot Team will be assigned a specific niche within the industry. In addition to working on their individual business model, they will work together to design a second business model for their niche that will inspire the audience. Facilitators will randomly request a Robot Team Leader to stand up and present the current work from their team throughout the day on Thursday. Each team’s work will be highlighted during the RETSO Recap on Friday.


If you’re reading this blog, and planning to attend RETSO, you need to be on one of these teams. You’re an advanced user. You’re someone who will benefit from the increased collaboration this project will feature.

Each Robot Team will sit together and work on a collaborative business model canvas. Team members can also do their personal canvas, so you won’t miss any content. The teams will be filled with overachievers like you. It is more work, but you’ll get even more out of the conference. There’s five teams to choose from and they are being facilitated by some really awesome team leaders.

  • Lender Robot Team – Sarah Stelmok

    You seriously make it seem so simple with your demonstration but I find
    this subject to be honestly a matter that I believe I’d not at all understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for myself. I am looking forward to your future publishings, I will try to get the grasp of it.
