I remember way way back at the first RE BarCamp in 2008 that Rob Hahn suggested we do a BarCamp event for the real super geeks of real estate. It was a great idea, but I was really in no position to pull it off at the time.
Seven years later, I think it’s time to give it a shot. With some help from my peeps at NAR, we’re organizing “Data Science For Housing Meet Up” during NAR’s annual convention in San Diego. The event will take place at the convention center on Thursday, November 12th from 2:30 to 5:00.
REALTORS® are welcome to attend, but this is really geared toward coders, data scientists, business analysts, and maybe even a few economists who work in the housing industry. Heck, I hope 90% of the discussion is completely over my head.
More details to follow. RSVP now to save yourself a spot as attendance is limited to 150 people. Furthermore, please pass this on to those super geeks on your team. This is a great opportunity for them to network with their colleagues.
I’ve been pretty focused on my new role at NAR for the last six months, but finally made some time to write again. This white paper is a side project I did for the Center for REALTOR® Technology. The Intelligent Internet Lead explores some of the cool stuff happening behind the scenes when it comes to converting Internet leads into client relationships. Here’s the blog post I wrote about it, while the full report can be downloaded here.
